Reaching Communities 2010-13
Posted by Kerry Kolbe on 24 June 2011
SIGNAL is producing 10 media projects over the next three years in partnership with local community organisations with support from the BIG Lottery's Reaching Communities fund.
Beginning in October 2010 with a radio playwriting scheme with the Furness Multicultural Womens Network, the project continues into 2011 with a short film production made with participants from the Barrow-based mental health support organisation The Croftlands Trust.
A further 8 projects will run over the next two-and-a-half years, working with local users from groups supporting those with learning disabilities, homeless groups and groups supporting disadvantaged young people.
The Reaching Communities fund aims to encourage disadvantaged and marginalised residents to engage with their communities, develop new skills and become more active citizens.
If your community group is interested in partnering with us on one of the forthcoming projects, please contact us to find out more.
