Projector-in-Furness programme underway

Students have been exploring films as part of Signals new film education programme.

During October and November we have been hosting film education evens for local school and college students. 

Four excellent films have been the focus for discussions around film including the British film industry, gender in films and documentary.

We've been really pleased to have has visiting film experts leading the sessions including Martin Thomas and Karen Bird - Wrexham College Film and Media department, Rona Murray and academic Film literature author, Roy Stafford.

The events have been a huge success so far with loads of great feedback from students and teachers. One student said "Its been a great insight into the film industry" while another said "the discussion makes you question things that wouldn't normally be questioned". The teachers have agreed adding that " it was well presented, informative and highly relevant to AS Film Studies."

It's been particularly exciting to use of our brand new cinema screening room too! We're all looking forward to the next ones...
