About Signal Films

SIGNAL offers a year-round programme of film, media and arts activities including artist residencies, participatory training and provision of facilities for filmmakers and artists.

As an artist-led company its creative team produces award-winning works for exhibition, broadcast and the commercial sector.

Signal offers a variety of opportunities for established and emerging filmmakers and artists.

We provide residencies for visiting artists to produce new work through access to studio space in the brand new Cookes Studios arts facility.

Our arts education programme engages local audiences and participants, whilst our mentoring scheme supports the development of emerging local talent.

Regular events with guest artists and filmmakers provide a forum for discussion, broadening engagement with diverse work and supporting development of a vibrant film and arts culture in the area.
